Premises and Facilities

The Department of Environmental Sciences is based in Gaiopolis, the UTH Campus in Larissa. The Department premises comprise classrooms, lecture halls, teaching and research laboratories, the Secretariat and staff offices, located in three (3) buildings in the campus: Central Building (CB), Engineering Sciences Building (ESB) and Biosciences Building (BB). There is a car park and green areas, too, all around the buildings.


TEACHING ROOMS

Modern, functional teaching spaces are available for the educational purposes. These are three (3) lecture halls: Lecture Hall I (CB-ground floor), Lecture Hall II (CB-1st floor) and Lecture Hall III (CB-ground floor) and three (3) classrooms: A1, A2, A3 (BB).

They are all equipped with state-of-the art technology facilities, which can meet teaching and training needs, as well as host scientific meetings. There is also a classroom equipped with computers that provide advanced telematics services supporting the educational activities of students in the following fields: Computer Programming, Computer Communications, Data Retrieving, Databases, Image Processing, Internet Applications.


EDUCATIONAL / RESEARCH LABORATORIES

Ten (10) laboratories operate to meet the teaching, educational and research needs of the Department of Environmental Sciences. They cover a wide range of environmental topics with an emphasis on the subject matters of the undergraduate study programme.

ACADEMIC STAFF OFFICES

There are also fifteen (15) offices fully equipped to meet the academic and research needs of the staff.
