With a view to improving the educational process and effectively addressing students’ academic issues, the Department of Environmental Sciences, UTH, has established and implemented the Student Adviser service (SA) in accordance with the provisions of the UTH Internal Regulations and article 35 of Law 4009/2011 (Government Gazette Issue 195/issue A’/06.09.2011): “The student adviser guides and supports students in their study programmes.”
At the beginning of each academic year, the Department Assembly assigns Student Adviser duties for each newly admitted student to the Department
Academic Staff, on a rotating basis. All students have a Student Adviser to provide them with support throughout their time at University. In the event of the absence of a Student Adviser for a long period of time (e.g. sabbatical leave, health problem, retirement), the Assembly assigns the students to another faculty member. The procedure is repeated after students of special categories are enrolled at the Department.
Students should contact their Student Advisers for issues regarding their studies at the Department, so as to receive information, assistance and guidance for the successful completion of their studies. Through this service, students can receive support for their academic choices and useful advice on individual educational matters. Arranged meetings between students and Student Advisers are prepared and held during Student Hours defined by the academic staff.
